Validated coagulation monitoring

The differential ROTEM® analysis gives information on hyperfibrinolysis, substitution requirements of fibrinogen, factors or platelets as well as dose control of heparin or protamine.

Whole picture of the coagulation process

In one whole blood sample, ROTEM® measures:

  • clotting time
  • clot formation speed
  • clot firmness and lysis

It helps create the whole picture of the coagulation process when used in addition to standard laboratory coagulation assays. It has 2 levels of controls, internal self check and optional LIS/HIS connectivity, allowing for total quality management.

Differential diagnosis approach

In the complex field of hemostasis, it is a particular challenge to diagnose coagulation disorders. The differential diagnosis approach provided by ROTEM® helps to identify numerous coagulopathic situations, such as hyperfibrinolysis, factor and platelet deficiency, or even different stages of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).

Targeted therapy

The potential anticoagulant effects of therapeutic agents can be identified, and the influence of specific anticoagulants, such as heparin, can be assessed and monitored through specific analysis. Targeted, individualized therapy with coagulation factors helps to save the increasingly limited blood product supply.
